Buying A Home

In this uncertain world, one thing is for sure: Buying a home (whether it is a house, co-op ,or condo) especially in a real estate market like Brooklyn, is always a good investment. Whether you're looking to purchase a condo, co-op, or townhouse is up to you, but as with any venture, it's important to understand your options. Here is a list of the steps you should take if you are ready to buy real estate:

Buying a home is likely to be one of your largest investments. You deserve the best doctor, dentist, and attorney. It’s no different when it comes to your real estate professional. Call Awaye Realty for quality, professional real estate advice.

Get Pre-Approved for a Mortgage Loan

It’s not as complicated as it sounds. First, find out how your credit and FICO scores look. Generally, the higher your FICO score, the more competitive your interest rate will be. If your credit score is under whelming, there are steps you can take to improve it. Shop around, contact multiple lenders and see who offers the best deal.

Determine Your Price Range

If you’re looking to buy a home, you probably have a price range in mind. We can help you narrow your real estate search. You might be surprised at the real estate options available. We can inform you about the carrying costs associated with different types of real estate.

Identify Your Ideal Neighborhood

If you live in New York City, you know that it is a kaleidoscope of different neighborhoods, each with their unique identities. We know Brooklyn neighborhoods and Brooklyn real estate inside and out. We can educate you about what home prices in different neighborhoods really look like, and offer you fitting alternatives if you’re caught off guard. You can use our website to get neighborhood data, then take an afternoon and go explore some neighborhoods.

Determine What You Can’t Live Without

How much home are you looking for? How many bedrooms and baths to you need? Do you want the modern amenities associated with new construction properties, or the historic charms of a pre-war home? Is parking a nice-to-have or an absolute necessity? How about outdoor space or laundry? Wouldn’t a fireplace be nice? Are you willing to upgrade your own kitchen? When it comes to Brooklyn properties, there are a lot of choices to make. Decide what really is crucial, and what you’d be able to give up.

Delve into the Market is a real estate resource that is available 24 hours a day for your real estate search. Not only do we give you access to THOUSANDS of real estate listings in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Staten Island, Queens, and the Bronx, but we offer you a wealth of information at your finger-tips... When you've found your perfect home and have decided to buy it, you should move quickly. With your agent, compose a written offer. Our licensed real estate professionals are familiar with the real estate market and can help you arrive at the proper value for your offer… one that gives you the best chance of your offer being accepted.

When submitting an offer, it’s important not to become too attached or emotionally involved in a home. There is a chance that your offer may not be accepted for any number of reasons. Remember, your Awaye Realty real estate professional is your best ally, and can help you negotiate with the sellers.
